Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2025
StarredLists ("we", "our", "us") is a browser extension and web service that helps you organize your GitHub starred repositories into lists. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.
What we collect
- GitHub account info: your GitHub username, email address, and avatar URL, received via GitHub OAuth when you sign in.
- GitHub access token: used to read your starred repositories and lists on your behalf.
- Session token: a randomly generated token stored in your browser to keep you signed in.
- List and repository data: the lists you create and the repositories you add to them.
- Payment info: if you upgrade to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status but never see or store your card number.
Why we collect it
All data is collected solely to provide the StarredLists service: authenticating your account, syncing your lists, and managing your subscription.
Third parties
- GitHub: we use GitHub OAuth for authentication and the GitHub API to access your starred repos.
- Stripe: handles payment processing for paid plans.
- Vercel: hosts the web application.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.
Data storage
Your data is stored in a secured database. Session tokens are stored locally in your browser via the Chrome storage API. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
Your rights
- You can revoke GitHub access at any time from your GitHub settings.
- You can sign out and clear your local data from the extension popup.
- To request full deletion of your account and data, contact us at the email below.
